<Associations with the Artwork>
I’ve recorded my thoughts on the emotion of fear as they came to me.
– Fear of those stronger than me (Elementary School)
– Fear of being harmed (High School)
– Fear of labor and oppression (University)
– Fear of class and circumstances (Military)
– Fear of not being loved
– Fear of alienation, of not fitting in with the group
– Fear of being caught pretending to know what I don’t
– Fear of illness, fear of social isolation
– Fear of old age.
<My Definition of Fear>
– Fear is the sum of uncertainty X duration.
– Time is breath, and breath is pulse.
– When fear intensifies, breathing becomes constricted. This, in turn, becomes a symbol of fear.
– The gaze of others always surrounds fear, and this amplifies it.
– The moment we kick away that fear, we can overcome it.
Fake it until you make it.
If you first act as the person you haven’t yet become, one day that image will become your true self.
